Is Blogging Outdated?

As you can see, I've hardly blogged since, oh, May. It seems that many of my friends have neglected their blogs, as well. Was blogging just a fad? If so, why is it over? If not, will people ramp it up in the new year? Discuss.

Also, I'm in a funk. Usually I am in love with this time of year, but sadly, not this year. I think I mostly need to remember the words of this talk.

I think you should have DDH blog more! If I recall correctly, he's only contributed a single entry so far, so there's no reason for him to be tired of it yet.

Merry Christmas!

I have noticed the same thing you have, but I also don't want it to be a fad. I have really enjoyed reading and seeing pictures about what is going on in peoples life! I hope you feel Christmas a little bit more in the next coming week!

Yeah, our blog has basically died as well. But I am still way too caught up in the Bloggernacle.

And, I am SOOO not feeling the holiday spirit this year. We went Christmas tree shopping, and came home with a 12-inch plastic tree for a $1.99...... pathetic enough?

I agree that most blogs have either petered out or at least slowed down, mine included. Too bad, because I actually like keeping updated with friends'/family's lives.

Sad, but I have to agree. I've kept up with our's, but have noticed that many other people haven't been doing the same. (But to be honest, I've wanted to throw in the towel because I don't know if anyone is even bothering to read it.)

Blogging can just never compare to real-life interaction. As much as we try to use trends such as MySpace, Facebook, Blogs, even e-mail, they will never be as satisfying at the phone call or chat over coffee/hot chocolate. I think Blogs will go in cycles.

Remember Xanga? It was huge back in 2002/2003 but died...only to be replaced by Facebook, blogspot, and Twitter. Maybe blogging is just a fad, but it will be back. It will cycle through and return revamped and "pimped out." Love and belonging is one of the basic human needs. Until that desire disappears, technology will forever be reinventing ways to try to fulfill that desire.
