A Few Firsts

Some of you may be appalled at this, but neither Dan nor I have ever had a fresh tree for Christmas before. But as this is our first Christmas together and we both love the idea of a real tree, we decided to go for it. So we bought our very first real Christmas tree last night! It is so adorable. It's a little 5' Frasier Fir and it's the cutest thing ever. I went a little overboard in using extra branches to decorate the whole place. And then we hung ornaments, the first being a lovely "Our First Christmas" engraved photo one from a wonderful friend. And then we started dancing to Christmas music. And then Preethi died of bliss.

The end.

In other news, we're having our seminary Christmas party tomorrow night, and we're playing/singing in our stake performance of Handel's Messiah on Sunday night. If you live in the Philly area, you should definitely come! It will be really fabulous. My parents are coming up for it, for which I'm so excited. Especially because that means we can take them to Scannicchio's. :) Then only one more week before Christmas break! Hurray!

You are so perfectly lovable. :) Congrats on the fresh tree. Robert and I got a super cheap one from Rite-Aid (very fake), but its the first one that we've ever had together, so its pretty amazing. :)

Love the story, put a smile on my face. For the Messiah, is it at the branch or ward? It's a tradition for me and I don't want to miss it this year, but I can't find any place that has a sing-a-long here in Reading. Happy tree decorating, Jackie

Oh I am so jealous! I love a big, real tree at Christmas. james and I have been married 5 years, and we got our first tree this year....its 2.5 feet tall and from the dollar store. Not quite the joyful story, but at least its a tree :)BTW I think your fabulous and have loved getting to know you.

We love real trees and go to chose ours and then cut it down. Eddie never had a real tree until he met me. The only icky thing are the needles. Enjoy the season and happy first Christmas as husband and wife!!!

Jackie, I feel SO bad that I didn't respond sooner to your question about the Messiah! I hope you were able to find one to attend (and hopefully ours!).

yay for your first christmas!

and skunks are sooo scary. i'm always paranoid about walking out to my car in the dark. i pulled into the driveway once and there was one by our shed....when i finally got up the nerve to get out of the car...i bolted down the sidewalk to the house.

I had heard that like the restaurnt, so we went to scannicchio's for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty good and sad that I have worked 3 blocks away for the last 3 years and this is the first time that we have got there.
